On July 5th, 2015 at approx. 2030Hr, members of the Barrie Police were called to a Dunlop Street address after a third party complaint regarding a possible domestic disturbance. Once on scene, uniform patrol officers entered an apartment to conduct an investigation. Observations were made inside that resulted in the arrest of a male and female occupant on drug related charges.
Members of the Street Crime Drug Enforcement Unit then authored a search warrant for the residence. As a result of this investigation, police recovered a quantity of cocaine with a street value of approx. $6700. Also recovered, a quantity of marijuana with an approx. street value of $1500. Various items of drug paraphernalia were also seized. The male and female occupant both face criminal charges, including: Poss. of a controlled substance and Poss. for the purpose of trafficking.

On the morning of July 4th, 2015, the Barrie Police Service responded to a north-end group home after a male resident threatened staff members. The male was irate; causing staff to fear for their safety. Staff members ultimately locked themselves in an office and the male attempted to force entry; resulting in damage to the door. Subsequently the police were called and the male was arrested. He was taken to the Barrie Police Service custody facility and lodged pending a bail hearing.

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2015 – 11:15am
On July 4th, 2015, Barrie Police responded to a Letitia Heights neighbourhood for a disturbance that took place on the street. A male and female pedestrian got into a verbal altercation with another male. The lone male then produced a pair of brass knuckles and placed them on his hand. Subsequently, the police were notified. Several units responded to the scene and a witness was able to point out a residence that the suspect was observed entering. Police located the male in question and he was taken in to custody without incident.
The accused was released with a future court date. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.

Date: Friday, July 3, 2015 – 2:00am
Just after 2 am the police were called to 90 Edgehill Dr in regards to a violent domestic. Investigation revealed that 20 year old male had assaulted his girlfriend a number of times throughout the evening. At one point the accused was observed by neighbors pushing the female victim up against wall and then down the hallway of the complex.
The assault was rather significant with the male party throwing pots and pans at the victim. When the police arrived they observed the accused smashing a fire extinguisher. He was taken in to custody.
While being processed at the police station, the accused was given some paper towel to wipe a small cut on his face. He took the bloodied paper towel and threw it directly at the booking officer.
The male was found in breach of a Probation Order, three counts of Breach of Probation were laid.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was also the subject of several outstanding warrants. He was held in custody, pending a bail hearing.
