Barrie Police responded to a complaint of people lighting fireworks off in a dangerous manner.
Officers investigated and dealt with a male who was agitated about police being called and threatening neighbours.
The male was clearly intoxicated and was found to be on a court imposed condition not to consume alcohol.
A 31 year old male was arrested for Fail to Comply with a Recognizance and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.
He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing.

Barrie Police responded to a 911 call from a female in distress. When officers arrived on scene the female had injuries to her face.
An investigation revealed that her husband had assaulted her. The two were arguing over his mental health state and his alcohol issues.
The male punched the female in her face.
A 50 year old male was arrested with Domestic Assault.
He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing.

Barrie Police officers were kept busy with intoxicated people in the downtown area.
A 53 year old male was harassing bar staff at a downtown bar and asked to leave. Police had to be called because the male was intoxicated and refused to leave.
A 54 year old male was found in a downtown park unable to care for himself. when police investigated they found he was visiting Barrie for weekend festivities and he had been arrested for the same offence the evening prior.
A 26 year old male was causing problems in the downtown area, police attempted to send him home in a cab, the male tried to jump out of the moving taxi.
All parties were arrested and held in custody until they sobered up.

On the 11th day of July 2015, at 03:41hrs Barrie Police responded to a Maplehurst Cres. residence in regards to a noise complaint. Upon police arrival, no excessive noise was noted and no further police action was taken in regards to this occurrence.

Later on this date, at 08:13hrs Barrie Police responded to the same residence in regards to a disturbance involving a male & female.
The male and female had fled the scene prior to police arrival. The male and female’s identities were not yet known at this time.
Police were notified by witnesses that a male operating a silver sports car was involved in a verbal dispute with a female. The female had climbed onto the hood of the motor vehicle in an attempt to prevent the male from fleeing the scene.
Witnesses report that the male sped off at a high rate of speed with the female clinging to the hood of the car. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop after traveling approximately 150 meters, and then reversed at a high rate of speed. The vehicle traveled approximately 150 meters where it once again came to an abrupt stop. The female was thrown from the motor vehicle.
The male then sped off, fleeing the scene.
The female also fled the area and has yet to be identified. The extent of her injuries is not known at this time. She has made no effort to contact police.
Police conducted a search of the area. The suspect vehicle was located in the area of Bayfield St. & Cundles Rd. Police attempted to initiate a vehicle stop. The suspect refused to stop for police and sped off at a high rate of speed heading in a west bound direction along Cundles Rd.
Police terminated any pursuit in the interest of public safety.
Police returned to the scene and conducted their investigation.
It was during this time, the suspect returned to the scene.
Police once again attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect once again sped off attempting to avoid arrest.
The suspect rammed a police vehicle and traveled across several lawns of residences in attempt to make good his escape. It was at this point when the suspect rammed two more police vehicle’s and sped off at a high rate of speed.
One police officer was injured during this occurrence. The officer was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre where he was treated and released for neck and back injuries.
Police did not pursue the suspect in the interest of public safety. There were numerous adult and children pedestrians in the immediate area.
Police shortly thereafter located the suspect’s vehicle abandoned along Hadden Cres.
The suspect was located and arrested without incident a short distance later after a brief search.
A 22 year old Barrie male was arrested and held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
The male is facing the following charges:
#1- Dangerous Driving X2.
#2- Flight From Police.
#3- Failing To Stop At The Scene Of An Accident.
#4- Flight From Police Causing Bodily Harm.
#5- Possession Of A Controlled Substance X2.
#6- Possession Of A Controlled Substance For The Purpose Of Trafficking X2
Total of 9 criminal charges.

Occurrence Type: Home Invasion

On July 10th at 1041pm Barrie Police attended a residence in southwest Barrie after receiving several reports of a home invasion in progress.
Two masked suspects attended the residence with a getaway car, entered into the home via an insecure front door, and with a knife tried to obtain cash and electronics from the 2 adults and 5 teens who were in the home. The homeowner sustained non life-threatening injuries from the knife but was able to hold onto one of the suspects as his accomplice fled the scene.
A 25 year old Barrie male was arrested by Police and is held pending a bail hearing.
The suspect faces several charges including – Break and Enter, Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Assault with a Weapon, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Utter Threats, and Breach Probation.

Date: Friday, July 10, 2015 – 8:00pm
Barrie Police investigated a Break and Enter into a downtown residence. A large quantity of items were stolen including several pieces of jewellery, electronic items, alcohol and cash.
A male entered the residence through an open window located at the rear of the house.
An investigation was conducted and Barrie Police identified the suspect and recovered all the stolen items.
A 32 year old male was arrested and charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing.
