On Sunday, October 4, 2015, shortly after 4:00 p.m., a male prank called 911. Upon calling the male back he refused to identify himself.
Police eventually located the caller at a residence on High Street, City of Barrie. The male was impaired by drug and found to be breaching his recognizance.
The 34-year-old, Barrie male has been arrested and charged with; fail to comply with recognizance x2 and possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in bail court Monday morning.
As a reminder to the prankers out there, if you are sitting home and board on a Sunday and decide to prank call 911, you will be located and your night will become a lot more eventful then expected!

A Barrie man wanted on two separate warrants was arrested at his residence without incident Saturday morning. While police were dealing with the male it was learnt that he was involved in a break and enter that had occured earlier in the night. The 24 year old male now faces a total of nine criminal charges from three seperate incidents. The charges include Break and Enter, Theft, Michief and numerous breaches of court imposed conditions. The male was held for bail.

Barrie Police responded to a call about a male stumbling through the downtown streets Saturday morning. Police located the male and checked on his well being. It was discovered that the male was wanted by Barrie Police for breaching his probation. The 42 year old Barrie resident was arrested and transported to the Barrie Police Station where he was held for bail.

Date: Saturday, October 10, 2015 – 1:00pm
A 27 year old Barrie resident was caught stealing a bottle of vodka from a downtown LCBO Saturday afternoon. Store security arrested the male and Barrie Police continued the arrest once on scene. He was charged with theft and released with a future court date.

Date: Thursday, October 1, 2015 – 10:45am
On Thursday, October 1, 2015, at 10:45 a.m., police responded to a break and enter that had occurred at a residence on Wellington Street, City of Barrie.
The Complaint indicated she had been house sitting and upon checking in on Thursday morning she found the house had been ransacked and several electronic items had been missing.
The residence had been secured and it’s believed the suspect(s) had forced their way into the residence sometime throughout the night into the early morning.
The investigation is ongoing.

Barrie Police and Barrie Fire responded to two separate house fires about a block apart in the south east end of town Friday night. All residents were evacuated and there were no injuries in either fire. Extensive damage was done to both homes. Both fires were deemed suspicious and the Fire Marshall was contacted to attend the scenes. It is unclear if the fires are related at this time, police and fire are just in the early stages of their investigations. Anyone with information is asked to contact Barrie Police or Crime Stoppers.
