On Sunday, December 13th at approximately 1:50am, a single motor vehicle was travelling westbound on Hamner Street west when it lost control and hit a light standard just west of Kozlov Street. This particular motor vehicle being heavily damaged then fled the scene after damaging City property. The motor vehicle is described as a Honda Element operated by a male driver.

Occurrence Type: Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charge

On Sunday, December 11, 2015, jusr before 11:00 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Quail Crescent as a result of a Highway Traffic Act infraction.
Further investigation found the driver of the vehicle was under a criminal code driving suspension as a result of being convicted of dangerous driving earlier this year. Police located what they believed to be cocaine within the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
A 29-year-old Barrie male has been charged with drive while disqualified, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. The male was released on a promise to appear and will appear in a Barrie court Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

Date: Sunday, December 13, 2015 – 4:30pm
On Sunday, December 11, 2015 police were called to Zehrs just after 4:00 p.m., located on Big Bay Point Road, in the city of Barrie in regards to a theft.
Upon arrival police were advised by the loss prevention officer that a female had been arrested for stealing several packages of peanut brittle. The female had concealed the items in her shopping bags and left the store without making an effort to pay for the items.
Police have charged a 31-year-old Barrie female with theft under $5,000. She will appear in a Barrie court in January 2016.
