On Friday January 8, 2015 at 4pm officers from Barrie Police responded to a complaint of drug trafficking at a west end Barrie motel. Officers attending found the occupant smoking marijuana. The 20 year old Barrie resident was arrested and a quantity of cash, drugs, a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia was seized. He was charged with trafficking and held for a bail hearing.

On Saturday January 9th, 2016 at 9:58 a.m. Barrie Police responded to a Bayview Drive address for a violent domestic dispute. Officers arrested a 31 year old Barrie man for assaulting his girlfriend. He was charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault and forcible confinment. He was held for a bail hearing.
