On the evening of June 11th, 2016 Barrie Police conducted a ride program at an undisclosed location within the city of Barrie. The RIDE detail was conducted for approximately 2 hours, resulting in 500 vehicles being stopped.

At approximately 9:20PM, a vehicle was stopped and a 49 year old male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The male driver provided a breath sample at the roadside and registered a fail. The male was arrested and given a breath demand by the arresting officer then transported to the Barrie Police Service where he was found to be well over the legal limit, and was subsequently charged with operate a motor vehicle over 80mgs.

The accused was released with a future court date.

Date: Sunday, June 12, 2016 – 2:45am

On the 12th of June 2016 at approximately 2:45am, Barrie Police responded to a disturbance call at an address on Mary St in downtown Barrie.

Upon arrival, Police found a male and female arguing over relationship issues. The 26 year old female was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants of failing to attend Court as directed.

The female party was arrested without incident and transported to the Barrie Police Service for processing.

Date: Saturday, June 11, 2016 – 6:00pm

On the 11th of June 2016 shortly before 6PM, Barrie Police were on general foot patrol in the area of the LCBO store on Mary St in the city of Barrie when they were approached by a loss prevention officer of a theft that just occurred. Officers located a 43 year old male who had attempted to conceal $118 worth of vodka on his person and tried to leave the store making no attempt to pay for the items.

Further investigation found that the male party was bound by two separate probation orders with numerous conditions. The accused was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and fail to comply with probation X2 and held for a bail hearing.
