On July 23 Police attended in the area of Dunlop Street East with regards to a suspicious person lurking around construction equipment.
Police located a lone male in the area and further investigation revealed he was involved in an online Pokémon video game and was searching the area for a character.
Police remind people use common sense and courtesy with regards to person’s property when playing the video game.

Wasaga Beach OPP interacted with a male party who was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant by the Barrie Police Service.
The male was also determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was given a 3 day license suspension. He was transported to the Barrie Police station and held in cells pending a bail hearing.

Barrie Police were notified to attend in the area of Johnson’s beach in regards to a suspicious vehicle.
Police located the vehicle with two male occupants. The male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and transported to the Barrie Police station where he blew 3 times the legal limit of alcohol.
He vehicle was impounded for a week and license suspended for 90 days.
The male was later released with a future court date.

Date: Sunday, July 24, 2016 – 10:30am
On Sunday, July 24, police responded to a residential break and enter at a residence on Kempenfelt Drive, in the City of Barrie.
It is believe the suspect(s) entered the home between 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., gaining access into the residence by smashing through the back door. The suspect(s) made off with a digital camera and had been able to flee the residence without alerting nearby neighbours.
The residence was processed by SOCO officers for potential evidence, and the investigation is continuing.
