Occurrence Type: Assault and Mischief

Date: Sunday, May 3, 2015 – 2:30pm

Barrie Police were called to a Yonge St apartment complex for a male throwing a brick at several windows.

The suspect smashed a window and punched the victim in the face.

Police arrived and were told the suspect had fled into a ravine area where he was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Police were told a 34 year old Barrie male was upset over a non payment of a drug debt and decided to make attempts to collect his money.

The accused was arrested for assault and mischief, he was also found to be breaching his probation order. He was held for a Monday morning bail hearing.

Date: Sunday, May 3, 2015 – 2:29pm

Barrie Police were called to the parking area near the Spirit Catcher for two males who were attempting to enter several cars parked nearby.

Police located the two 23 year old Innisfil suspects who were both found to be on Recognizances NOT to have any contact with each other.

Both were arrested for breaching their Recognizance and transported to the Barrie Police Service for a bail hearing.

No thefts were reported from any of the parked cars.

Date: Sunday, May 3, 2015 – 2:00pm

On Sunday afternoon, Barrie Police received two calls for dogs left in cars while the owners went shopping at local malls.

Police remind residents,temperatures will rise dramatically inside a car during warm sunny days and simply leaving a window slightly open will not cool the vehicle.

Please leave your pets at home when you go shopping, dogs do not deserve to be left alone in hot cars on warm sunny days.

Date: Saturday, May 2, 2015 – 5:15pm

Barrie Police received a 911 call advising that 3 males had just started a fire in the bush near Lover’s Creek in the area of Grace Street.

Officers tracked 3 males all 15 years of age to a nearby residence while 3 fire trucks attended the fire scene to extinguish the considerable brush fire.

The three males were charged with arson and released to their parents for a future court date.

Date: Saturday, May 2, 2015 – 6:55pm

While on routine patrol in the area of Stanley Street and Birchwood, an officer had his attention drawn to a cloud of smoke forming in the intersection and a Camaro doing donuts”.

The officer investigated the driver who was in the company of two 12 year old boys who were not his children but acquaintances.

Through the investigation the officer determined that the male was impaired by alcohol
