Police were called to the Grove Street plaza to check on the well-being of a male within a vehicle. On arrival officers found a male slumped forward and the vehicle running. When the officers managed to wake the male it was determined that he was impaired by drugs.
Drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle including a syringe which contained a substance believed to be heroin. The 36 year old Barrie male was arrested for having care and control of a vehicle while impaired by drug and possession of a controlled substance.
He was taken to the station where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Evaluator which confirmed his impairment by a controlled drug. He was held until the effects of the drugs wore off and he was released with a future court date.

Barrie Police arrested a 24 year old male in the cities north end on Wednesday afternoon after observing him staggering around a circus held in the area. The male was disturbing the visitor’s and when questioned by police was unable to recall his address due to his level of intoxication. The male was arrested and held until sober for his own safety and the public.
