Occurrence Type: Mischief

Barrie Police Service are looking to speak to a youth who was in the area of Tyndale Road at 3:15pm on Sunday after damage was reported to a house under construction.

On Sunday, April 17th, 2016 at 3:45pm police attended a vacant house located at 51 Tyndale Road, in the City of Barrie, for reports of mischief. A witness in the area stated they heard smashing glass coming from a vacant house and saw a male youth approximately 12-14 years old, wearing a red shirt and green shorts, running from the area. Police located three windows broken on the property with evidence that rocks and bricks were used to cause the damage.

Occurrence Type: Break and Enter Suspect Arrested

On Wednesday, December, 9 2015 the Canadian Drug Mart located on Wellington Street, in the City of Barrie had been broken into. The suspect had left a small trace of blood behind after cutting himself on glass upon entering the store.

The Barrie Police Forensic Unit obtained several pieces of evidence from the scene including the blood that had been left behind. The suspect’s identity was later confirmed through DNA testing, as a result an arrest warrant was issued for a 63 year-old Barrie male.

On Sunday, April 17, 2016 the accused had been investigated by Niagara Regional Police. Further investigation revealed the male was wanted with the Barrie Police Service.

The 63-year-old male was transported to Barrie and taken into custody and will appear in a Barrie bail court Monday morning.

Date: Sunday, April 17, 2016 – 6:00am

Throughout Saturday evening into the early morning of Sunday, April 17, police arrested 6 people for being intoxicated in a public place, while downtown.

The accused’s were held in custody until osber and later released with a $65.00 ticket.
