Occurrence Type: Warrants

Barrie Police arrested a male on warrants after they located him at a rooming house in Barrie.

When officers first started speaking to the male, he provided a false name but was unable to keep his story straight and officers where able to determine he was lying about his name.

The male was arrested and transported to Barrie Police where he was processed on the warrants and also had the added charge of obstruct police for providing a false name.

He will appear in bail court on June 15th.

Date: Friday, June 12, 2015 – 7:20pm

Barrie Police responded to a 911 call at a west-end residence in regards to a domestic disturbance involving an ex-boyfriend on scene ransacking the residence of his ex-girlfriend while also in possession of a knife.

Shortly after officers arrived on scene, the male surrendered himself to police and the knife was located and seized by police. The investigation found that the male entered the residence where he assaulted his ex-girlfriend and threatened her with a knife. The victim did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of the assault.

The 27-year old male was arrested for domestic related offences including Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Weapons Dangerous, Uttering Threats, and Mischief. He was transported to the station where he was processed and held pending a bail hearing on June 15th.

Date: Sunday, June 14, 2015 – 1:30am

A 41-year old female was arrested after after she was intoxicated at friends east-end residence and became upset at him and smashed two windows in the residence with a brick.

When police arrived they were able to locate the female in the area. She was placed under arrest for mischief and transported to the station where she was released with a future court date when sober.

Date: Saturday, June 13, 2015 – 9:00am

On May 18th, 2015 at approximately 11:30 pm a 29 year old male victim was walking towards his residence in the north east end of Barrie. As the victim was three doors from his residence he was approached by a second male who held a knife towards the victim and demanded he surrender his cellular phone and back pack.

The victim cooperated with the accused and was not injured.

Police were actively investigating the matter and on June 13th, 2015 a 27 year old Barrie resident was arrested for the robbery and held for bail.

Date: Friday, June 12, 2015 – 9:30pm

On the 12th day of June 2015, Barrie Police “Investigative Services” located a stolen motor vehicle described as a blue Chevrolet Avalanche SUV parked and unattended behind the “Salvation Army” located at #151 Lillian Cres. Barrie, Ontario.

Investigation revealed that this motor vehicle had been utilized in a Break & Enter into the “Bayfield Mall” during the early morning hours of the 12th day of June 2015.

The motor vehicle was seized and held for expert examination.

Investigation continuing.

Occurrence Type: Breach of Conditional Sentence

Date: Friday, June 12, 2015 – 11:00pm

On June 12 around 11 pm a Barrie Police officer on routine patrol on Duckworth St had occasion to stop a motor vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act offence. During the vehicle stop the officer discovered that the driver of the vehicle was bound by a number of conditions of a Conditional Sentence Order.

One of the conditions the male was bound by was not to consume alcohol, the driver was found to be breaching that condition.

A second condition was that the male was under house arrest and was not to out of his residence,

As a result the 36 year old male was arrested, transported to the station and held pending a bail hearing.

Barrie Police located and arrested a 35-year-old male on the authority of a warrant for Mischief and Fail to Appear Court after a warrant was issued yesterday.

The male was arrested without incident and transported to Barrie Police where he was processed on the charges.

Occurrence Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

Date: Friday, June 12, 2015 – 7:00am

Barrie Police responded to a 3 vehicle motor collision at the intersection of Anne and Tiffin Street at approximately 7am this morning after numerous 911 calls were received.

When officers arrived on scene they were informed by witnesses that one of the vehicles that was involved in the collision had fled the scene. Officers found the vehicle up the road where the driver used the curb to stop the vehicle because the damage caused by the impact would not allow the vehicle to brake and come to a full stop.

A female driver involved in the collision was charged with failing to stop at a red light. There were no serious injuries as a result of the collision.
