Theft Under and Breach of Probation – On 15 July 2015 a male was seen by store security at Canadian Tire. The male was arrested for theft and returned to the store. Police were called to investigate the theft. Officers investigated the male who was also on probation. The male was taken to the station and processed on the charges. He was released on a promise to appear for a future court date.

Barrie Police located a wanted 24 year old male at a business on Bellfarm Road. The male was wanted in connection with pawning stolen merchandise at a store earlier in the month. The Barrie resident was arrested without incident and transported to the Barrie Police Station. He was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and later released with a future court date.

Occurrence Type: Search Warrant Executed – Arrest

Date: Wednesday, July 15, 2015 – 7:00am

On the 7th of May 2015, Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit commenced an investigation regarding online activity of child pornography. As part of the investigation police executed a search warrant at a Barrie home on the 15 of July 2015. Police determined that a male, 36 years of age, was responsible for the on-line activity and he was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

The male was charged with 5 counts possession of child pornography, one count of make available child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography. During the search at the residence, police located a controlled substance and as a result the male is facing one count of possession under Controlled Substance Act.

The Barrie resident is anticipated to be in bail court on the 16th July 2015.

The investigation will now require an examination of computers seized to provide further insight into the accused activities on-line.
