Occurrence Type: Vehicle collision

The Barrie Police traffic unit responded to the intersection of Madelaine Drive and Yonge Street for a report of a collision between a Motor vehicle and a cyclist.

The investigation indicates that the 53 year old cyclist may have struck the vehicle. The cyclist was found with serious head injuries and transported to Sunnybrook hospital for treatment.

Date: Thursday, July 30, 2015 – 1:25am

Barrie police were alerted to a robbery which occurred at the Mac’s convenience store located at 151 Bayfield Street.

The suspect concealed his identity with a mask and while armed with a kitchen knife obtained money and 3 packages of cigarettes.

The K9 unit attended and tracked the suspect while investigators spoke with witnesses. The K9 track was unsuccessful but the investigation is ongoing.

The preliminary description of the suspect is that of a male wearing a black sweater, grey sweat pants, black cowboy hat and heavy black shoes or boots.
