Occurrence Type: Impaired by Drug

On Thursday, September 17, 2015, police received call with regards to a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Carol Road, City of Barrie.

Police located the vehicle and the driver. He had been impaired by drug and further investigation led to a small seizure of heroin.

The 27-year-old, Barrie, male was arrested and charged with, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

The male was issued a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment. He will appear in a Barrie Court in October.

Date: Friday, September 18, 2015 – 10:00am

On April 24th, 2014, an arrest warrant was issued for a 32-year-old, Barrie, male who had been identified as the suspect in a robbery of a Barrie taxi cab driver.

The 46-year-old, victim had been robbed of personal belongings while transporting the suspect just before 1:00 a.m. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries following the incident.

Throughout the investigation the suspect fled Ontario and took up residency Kelowna, British Columbia. The suspect eventually attracted the attention of police in British Columbia, and was arrested for unrelated drug charges and placed into custody.

The Barrie Police Service Warrant Unit was advised of the arrest and on Thursday, September 17, 2015, Barrie Police attended Kelowna, British Columbia and arrested a 32-year-old male.

The suspect will appear in a Barrie bail court Friday morning.
