Occurrence Type: Break and Enter

On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, just before 5:00 p.m., police responded to a break and enter that had occurred on St. Vincent Street, City of Barrie.

The complainant advised police upon returning home they realized their side door had been unlocked. As a result unknown person(s) entered the house and had stolen their television and laptop.

The suspect(s) obviously had too much to carry, and as a result left his/her crowbar behind in the bedroom. The crowbar was seized for further examination.

The investigation is ongoing and police are reminding home owners to ensure their doors and windows are secure when away from home.

On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., police responded to a break and enter that had occurred on Cox Mill Drive, City of Barrie.

The homeowners advised police they had been away for a few days and returned home to find their home had been broken into. The residence had been secured and it’s believed the suspect(s) had manipulated the front door key pad to gain entry.

The suspect(s) damaged a kitchen chair, and then fled the residence stealing an IPod and laptop.

The investigation is ongoing. As a reminder, if you are departing your residence for a lengthy period of time, have a neighbour or family/friend check on your residence to ensure its security.
