On Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at approximately 8:40pm police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop it. The vehicle became involved in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of Anne Street North and Gibbon Drive.
The driver fled the scene on foot and climbed over a fence and fell to the ground on the other side. He was transported to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and treated for a head injury. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 2:50pm Police were called by a citizen who had just received a ride from a local taxi to Duckworth Plaza. The citizen believed the driver of the cab was drunk and immediately called police, keeping a close eye on the vehicle in the Tim Horton’s drive through.
The taxi was stopped by police and given a roadside test which he failed. The driver was arrested and taken back to the Barrie Police Service for further testing and later charged for driving while impaired.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10:00pm Police were called to 22 Ross Street, in the City of Barrie by the landlord of the building after he was head butted by a tenant. Multiple residents and witnesses were on scene that identified the accused as the one responsible for the head butting.
A 22-year-old male was arrested for assault and transported to the Barrie Police Service to be held for a bail hearing. Once the male was lodged in Barrie Police cells, he continued to have trouble controlling his anger; punching the light fixture in the cell causing a cut that required stitches to close. The male is now healing calmly while awaiting his court appearance today.
