Occurrence Type: Till and Pizza Delivery Bag Stolen from Toppers Pizza

Barrie Police are asking the public to keep their eyes open for the cash register from Toppers Pizza and a Pizza Delivery bag.

On Monday, August 8th, 2016 at 6:00am management of Toppers Pizza located at 304 Dunlop Street West, in the City of Barrie, received an alarm call. Upon attending the business a short 17 minutes later, the manager found the door had been forcefully entered. The suspect removed the cash register by yanking the cable that mounted it to the wall and hiding it in a pizza delivery bag, leaving the same way he came in.

The business has since been reinforced with a secure locking mechanism and back up lock to ensure this does not happen again. Barrie Police believe the suspect will have a cash register as well as a pizza delivery bag with Topper’s Pizza on it.

Occurrence Type: Second Structure Fire in a Week

Barrie Police Service and Barrie Fire & Emergency Service are currently investigating a structure fire, the second one this week at the vacant hotel.

On Wednesday, August 10th, 2016 at 2:50am police were called to 114 Blake Street, in the City of Barrie, in regards to a structure fire. Barrie Fire contained the blaze and at this time the scene is being held awaiting the Fire Marshall. The incident is being treated as a suspicious incident and a criminal investigation is underway. This is the second structure fire at this vacant hotel after Barrie Police and Barrie Fire attended the location Monday, August 8th, 2016 at 9:00am for a similar incident.
