Occurrence Type: Male Arrested On Warrant After Ditching Vehicle

On Wednesday, January 13, 2016, just after midnight police came across unoccupied vehicle that had slid into the ditch on Highway 400 southbound at the Mapleview Drive exit.

Police followed the foot prints that led away from the vehicle and located the driver a short distance away. Further investigation revealed the male was wanted on a 7-day committal warrant, for drive suspended and fail to remain from a previous incident.

The 34-year-old Barrie male was arrested and later transported to Central North Correctional Centre.

Occurrence Type: Theft of Over $2000 of Jackets from Cabela’s

Date: Tuesday, January 5, 2016 – 5:50pm

On Friday, December 18, 2015 a single male entered Cabela’s Retail Inc. located at 40 Concert Way, in the City of Barrie, where he attempted to steal a Canada Goose jacket. At that time the alarm sounded and he fled the store without obtaining the jacket.

On Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 5:50pm a male matching the same description entered Cabela’s Retail Inc. on Concert Way where he was successful in stealing a number of Canada Goose jackets, cutting security tags and concealing them in a duffle bag. The male returned to the store at 6:55pm, again cutting the security tags stealing two The North Face jackets leaving the store with them in the same duffle.
