Occurrence Type: Impaired Driver Couldn’t Hide The Smell of Alcohol

On Thursday February 4, just after 11:00 p.m., police observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Anne Street. The vehicle had veered towards the curb and then back into its lane.
Police stopped the vehicle and despite the driver’s efforts to conceal the smell of alcohol by smoking a cigarette and chewing gum, the 67-year-old Barrie male was arrested for impaired care and control. He was transported the Barrie Police Station where he provided breath samples and further charged with over 80.
The male now faces a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment. He will appear in a Barrie Court in March.

On Thursday February 4, 2016 just before midnight, police observed a male dressed in all black clothing lurking around a residence on John Street in the City of Barrie.
Police captured the male as he attempted to flee area; the male had also been in possession of cocaine and heroin.
The 51-year-old Barrie male was arrested and charged with; trespass by night, possession of a controlled substance x2 and breach of probation.
The male will appear in bail court on Friday morning.
