On Thursday, February 11, 2016 just after 2:00 p.m. police responded to the LCBO located on Mary Street, in the City of Barrie after receiving complaints of a male in the parking lot exposing himself to customers.

When police arrived the male had fled the area in a black SUV.

Occurrence Type: Son Beats Up Father Over Vehicle Dispute

Date: Thursday, February 11, 2016 – 4:00pm

On Thursday, February 11th, 2016 shortly after 4:00pm a 41 year old Barrie male forced entry into his parents’ house located on Boag Court, in the City of Barrie. The family had an ongoing dispute over a vehicle and the accused had previously threatened to kill his father if his requests were not fulfilled.

Upon bursting into the home on Thursday, the accused threw a cigarette in the face of his 81 year old Father and spit at him. He then began to assault his Dad by punching him repeatedly and knocking him to the floor, continuing to threaten to kill him if he did not comply with his requests in regards to the vehicle. The accused stopped only when he was told the Police had been called.

The victim was taken to Royal Victoria Regional Health Center (RVRHC) for assessment and the accused male was tracked down by Police and arrested. He was charged with:

Threatening Death X 2

Forcible Entry

Unlawfully in a Dwelling

Assault

The accused was also taken to RVRHC for assessment on his hand from injuries sustained while punching his Father. He was cleared medically and held at Barrie Police Service for a bail hearing.
