Occurrence Type: Search Warrant Stops Drugs From Hitting The Streets

An investigation led police to believe that several parties had been trafficking drugs, and on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 members of the Barrie Police Street Crime and CERT Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on St. Vincent Street, in the City of Barrie.
As a result of the search warrant police arrested and charged three people residing at the residence. Numerous prescription drugs, as well as 3grms of heroin and 8grms of marijuana were seized.
Charged is:
A 19-year-old male – Possession of a controlled substance x3 and possession for the purpose of trafficking x2. He will appear in bail court Thursday morning.
An 18-year-old female -Possession of a controlled substance x4. She was released on a promise to appear and will appear in a Barrie court in April.
A 51-year-old female -Possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation x2. She was released on a promise to appear and will appear in a Barrie court in April.

Following a lengthy investigation the Barrie Police Fraud unit arrested and charged a 25-year-old Toronto man with; possession of counterfeit money x2, utter counterfeit money x5 and fraud under $5,000 x5.
Over the past year the accused had been using $50.00 US bills to make purchases at various businesses. His fraudulent actions had caught the attention of local police services, as he had been known to visit Barrie and the surrounding areas.
The accused’s spending spree came to an end on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, when he was arrested and charged. He will appear in a Barrie court in March.
