Occurrence Type: Robbery

On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 9:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery at Mac’s Convenience located at corner of Anne Street, North and Janice Drive, in the City of Barrie.

The suspect entered the store armed with a knife demanding money. The employee refused to comply with the demand and the suspect fled store. Police located the suspect ten minutes later on Sunnidale Road.

The 37-year-old Barrie male was arrested and charged with robbery and will appear in bail court Wednesday morning.

Occurrence Type: Charges Laid in Stabbing on Worsley Street

Date: Tuesday, March 8, 2016 – 6:10pm

On Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 at 6:10pm Barrie Police were called to an apartment at 14 Worsley Street, in the City of Barrie, for a disturbance. Blood smear was found in the hallway and a commotion that appeared quite heated could be heard from a nearby apartment. Police were met with little cooperation by the victim, accused and witnesses once in the apartment .

A 29 year old Barrie man was taken to Royal Victoria Regional Health Center with non-life threatening injuries. A 20 year old Barrie woman has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. She was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date at the beginning of April.

Date: Tuesday, March 8, 2016 – 8:20pm

Police attended an address on Little Avenue in the City of Barrie, just before 8:30 p.m. after receiving a call for a noise complaint. Upon arrival police were met by paramedics who had also received a call to attend the same address for a female in medical distress.

Police and paramedics located the female inside the residence and she had been extremely intoxicated and in distress over a minor cut on her hand. Residents had requested she leave earlier, although she refused. When paramedics attempted to assist her she refused and became uncooperative and verbally abusive.

The female refused to leave the premise and when being escorted off the property she quickly became combative and began kicking police.

The 46-year-old Barrie women was arrested and charged with assault police and later released on a promise to appear. She will appear in a Barrie court in April.
