On Monday, March 7, 2016, a women had been caught stealing from a store located in downtown Barrie. She had been confronted by an employee, although fled before police could be called.
Police were able to identify the women but were unable to locate her, therefore a warrant for her arrest was issued
On Thursday, March 10, just after 10:30 a.m., police located the 49-year-old Barrie women and she was arrested and charged for theft under $5,000. She was later released on a promise to appear and will appear in a Barrie court in April.

Occurrence Type: Women Arrested on a 20-year-old Warrant

In May of 1994 a women was arrested and charged by Barrie Police for two counts of Fraud over $5,000. She pled guilty and was scheduled to appear for sentencing in June of 1996. Upon failing to appear a warrant for her arrest was issued.
On Thursday, March 10, 2016 she arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport from Jamaica, where she had been residing. Canada Boarder Service Agency (CBSA) Officers discovered the outstanding warrant when she arrived into customs.
Barrie Police were notified and attended Pearson International Airport and arrested the 64-year-old female. She was transported back to the Barrie Police station and later released on a promise to appear and will appear in a Barrie court in April.
