Barrie Police I.C.E. Unit Execute Search Warrant

On Thursday, October 20, 2016, members with Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E) Unit and Ontario Provincial Police Technology Crime Unit executed a search warrant in the City of Barrie at an East end home.

Police were authorized to view computers and digital media within the residence with intention of furthering an investigation related to child pornography material. The male who was home at the time of the search was arrested.

The investigation is continuing and further analysis of computer data seized by police will provide insight into the accused on-line activities.

The 32-year-old Barrie male has been charged with; Accessing Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography

The Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E) Unit is a partner within Ontario’s “Provincial Strategy” to protect children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
