On the Thursday, May 26th, 2016 the Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at an east end Barrie residence. The police were authorized to view computers and computer data within the residence with intention of furthering an investigation related to child pornography material. The police search determined the person responsible for the on-line activity was a 19-year-old Barrie resident. The male who was home at the time of the search was arrested and held for a bail hearing. The accused will be facing a criminal charge of Accessing Child Pornography.
The investigation will now require an examination of computers seized to provide further insight into the accused on-line activities.
