Barricaded Man Arrested

On Saturday June 22nd, 2013 at approximately 3:40pm Owen Sound Police responded to 1094 3rd Avenue East in response to a barricaded man. The male threatened to harm himself and to shoot Police if they entered his residence. Police negotiated with the man for approximately an hour and a half in an attempt to have him come to the door. Police were subsequently able to gain access to the apartment and safely apprehend the male.

The 47 year old male was initially taken to the hospital for an assessment where he was subsequently discharged. Investigation revealed that the male was not armed and did not have possession of a firearm. He was arrested for uttering threats and held in custody.
