Barricaded Male Arrested

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATIONS, ON) – On February 21st, 2011 at 11:00 am, the Bruce Peninsula OPP responded to a domestic call at a residence on Hwy 21 in the Saugeen First Nations territory. The victim left the home fearing for her safety prior to police arrival. The suspect barricaded himself in the house and refused to cooperate with police.

The OPP West Region Emergency Response team, the OPP West Region Tactical Rescue unit, along with members of the OPP West Region Canine unit and OPP West Region Negotiation team attended to assist with the investigation.

Highway 21 was closed for several hours, at the incident location, in the interest of police and public safety. The highway has since re opened to traffic.

On February 21st, 2011 at 8:04 pm, members of the Tactical Rescue unit entered the residence and arrested the subject without incident.

The Bruce Peninsula Crime unit is continuing the investigation.
