(GODERICH, ON) – Members from Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment along with the assistance of West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Tactics & Rescue Unit (TRU) members have apprehended a barricaded male without incident.
At approximately 12:00 p.m. officers responded to the Alexandra & Marine General Hospital located on Napier Street in the Town of Goderich regarding a call for assistance.
A male patient had barricaded himself in a room at the hospital. Upon arrival officers set up containment around the immediate area and began communicating with the male.
At approximately 6:00 p.m. the male was apprehended without incident by members of the TRU team.
The incident did not pose any risk to public safety. During the incident access to certain areas of the hospital was restricted. Regular public access is now in effect.
