(WALKERTON, ON) – On October 7, 2012 at 3:35 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that someone was smashing the back door of the Sacred Heart Church along Victoria Street South in Walkerton. Officers arrived to find a male shouting and swinging an axe at the back door of the church. The male refused to comply with police instructions and walked toward one of the officers brandishing the axe. A Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was deployed and the male was taken into custody without incident. 29 year old Bryan ALEXANDER of Brant Township has been charged with Mischief, Possess dangerous weapon, Assault peace officer and Breach of probation. He appeared in court on October 10, 2012 to answer to the charges.
