(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Saturday morning September 29, 2012, a rural resident of Hibbert Ward contacted the Perth County OPP reporting the theft of his ATV.
A Perth County officer attended at the Line 28 residence (south west of Mitchell), and was informed by the victim that his brand new $9,200.00, 2012 CANAM 400 ATV had been stolen from an unlocked shed sometime between Monday September 24th and Saturday September 29th.
The officer patrolled the area around the farm and located the stolen ATV in the back of a nearby field. The ATV owner attended the scene and confirmed that it was his machine. The recovered ATV appeared to have been pushed from the shed to the field. Unsuccessful attempts had been made to hotwire the vehicle. The winch mounted under the front bumper as well as the battery, were removed from the machine.
The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone with information about this ATV to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
