ATV Operator Charged

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday August 14, 2012, around the noon hour, Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to the Elma Logan Recreational Complex in Monkton in response to a complaint of ATV’s on the property.

Officers located 4 male teens on ATV’s nearby the Recreational Complex. They were spoken to about trespassing. One of the males was charged with “fail to wear proper helmet” under the Off Road Vehicle Act.

In the past months, ATV operators have been riding machines around the arena complex causing damage to park fields. ATV’s have also done ‘donuts’ in parking lots and fields on the property.

The Perth County OPP will continue to monitor the operation of ATV’s within the county and conduct the appropriate enforcement. The public is requested to immediately contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 if ATV’s are observed damaging public or private property.
