(MUNICIPALITY OF BLUEWATER, ON) On Sunday July 01, 2012, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) crash at the intersection of Staffa Road and Fansville Line.
Investigation revealed that a newer model Arctic Cat ATV with two riders was driving east bound on Staffa Road. The operator proceeded to turn south on Fansville Line when she lost control of the ATV. The ATV entered the south east ditch causing both riders to be thrown from the machine. The 39 year old female operator sustained major injuries and was transported by air ambulance from the scene to the London Victoria Hospital where she remains in fair condition. The 14 year old female passenger sustained minor injuries.
The intersection remained shut down until 9 p.m. to allow the OPP Western Region Traffic Collision Investigation Unit to determine the cause of the crash. The Huron County OPP is continuing to investigate this incident.
