(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Monday July 15, 2013, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a rural residence on Line 19 South West of Staffa where the home owner discovered the theft of his ATV and numerous tools.
It was determined that around 9:00 a.m. an unknown person(s) entered onto the victims property. Entry was gained into an unlocked shed from which the following items were removed; five Husqvarna chain saws, one Husqvarna weed trimmer, a chainsaw sharpener, bolt cutters, a battery booster pack, an 18 volt DeWalt cordless drill, a Shop Vac, and a full red 5 gallon gas can.
The person(s) entered an unlocked barn where the owner’s Red 2005 Kawasaki 650 KVF ATV was stored. The keys to the ATV were located in the barn. The ATV was started and was driven down the victim’s laneway around 9:30 a.m. It then proceeded west on Line 19 and turned south onto Road 183. On Road 183 the ATV may have been loaded onto an awaiting vehicle. The Ontario licence plate attached to the vehicle is 30EE5.
Anyone having observed suspicious vehicles or persons in the area of the theft or who has information about this theft is requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
