On Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at approximately 8:30 p.m., an attempted robbery occurred in the area of Clarence Street and Bathurst Street which resulted in a male being taken to hospital for a non-life threatening injury.
A demand was made from the suspect and when the victim failed to turn over his property, the two engaged in a physical altercation resulting in the victim sustaining a stab wound to his hip.
There were three other males with the suspect at the time of the incident. After the altercation, the four males fled on foot, leaving the victim and his friend. One of the suspects is known to the victim.
On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, 18-year-old John Brown, 19-year-old Ronnie Doxtator, and 20-year-old Dakota Turner, all of London, were arrested and charged in relation to this incident. It was determined that John Brown was responsible for the stabbing. The fourth suspect has not been identified.
As a result of the investigation, the three males were charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– Robbery with violence, contrary to section 343(b); and
– Assault cause bodily harm, contrary to section 267(b).
The victim has since been discharged from hospital.
