The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating the attempted robbery of a female jogger on the McCraney Creek Trails near Pilgrims Way on Saturday November 19th 2016 at approximately 4:00 pm.
The victim was jogging on the trails when she observed a male on the trails behind her approaching. The suspect reached the victim and made a demand for valuables. The victim indicated she had nothing and the suspect fled the area.
The victim reported to police the suspect was carrying a handgun. The victim did not suffer any injuries and called police sometime later after returning home. Police and K9 units flooded the area. A young person similar to the suspect description was located in the area and detained but later released from custody after further investigation.
Suspect is described as: male, dark complexion (possibly middle eastern), 5’10
