Attempted Home Invasion – Suspect At Large

(MALAHIDE TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 24, 2016, just before 9:00 p.m., the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an attempted break and enter incident, which had just occurred.

An unknown male attended a commercial business on Carter Road. Once on the property, they confronted an occupant, demanded entry, and displayed a firearm.

The suspect broke a window but did not gain entry, and fled the scene in a dark coloured sport utility vehicle (SUV).

No property was stolen. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a slender male, in his mid-20’s, approximately 5’8”–5’10” tall, and wearing a blue baseball cap.

The Elgin County OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Investigative Services (FIS) continue to investigate this incident.
