Attempt Theft Of ATV

(SOUTH BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – On March 15th, 2012 at 10:51 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of an attempted All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) theft from a residence along Bruce County Road 3 in Brant Township. The owner found his ATV had been moved, but was still on his property. The South Bruce OPP is offering ATV owners the following tips to help prevent a theft:

Park your all terrain vehicle in the garage or outbuilding
If parked outside, select well lit area and secure your ATV to a fixed object such as a large tree
Don’t leave the ignition key with the ATV, secure it inside the house or keep it in your pocket
Consider disabling your ATV when not in use. Remove the battery, distributor cap or other equipment that will make it difficult to start and steal your ATV

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
