On September 7, 2016 shortly before 3:00 a.m., a disturbance occurred near the intersection of University Avenue and Lester Street in Waterloo. Two groups of males became engaged in a physical altercation. One of the males, struck the another male with a rock. The 20 year old victim from Toronto was transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A 23 year old Kitchener male was arrested at the scene, charged with Assault With a Weapon and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
