On Sunday, August 2, 2015, the accused attended an address on Engel Cres, City of Barrie. An argument ensued between the accused and the homeowner. The argument quickly escalated, leaving the homeowner with several injuries as a result of being assaulted with a metal pipe.

Upon police arrival the accused had fled the area in a vehicle. All attempts to locate the male had been exhausted, leaving his whereabouts unknown. At the time of the incident the homeowner refused medical attention for the laceration on his head.

Police were further advised the accused and homeowner were known to each other, and a week prior the accused had broken into the home, as a result of monies owed.

On Tuesday, August 11, 2015, the accused, a 32-year-old Springwater Male, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He has been charged with; assault with a weapon and break and enter.

He was released on a promise to appear and several conditions. He will appear in a Barrie Court in September.
