At approximately 2:45am on Sunday morning officers patrolling the Five Points area of Dunlop St. observed a disturbance on the sidewalk. As the officers approached they saw two males involved in an escalating verbal dispute. Just as the officers neared the two males a third male reached over and threw a punch striking a 21 year old male in the side of his face. This male was immediately arrested and taken to the police station. The victim was taken to the hospital with a possible broken jaw. A 21 year old Glencairn male has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
