Assault arrest

At approximately 12:44pm on Monday afternoon, police were called to attend a reported domestic assault on Argyle Rd. Upon arrival the officers spoke to a 41 year old female victim who was suffering from minor injuries. It’s alleged that the 40 year old common-law partner had punched and kicked the victim fleeing the residence prior to police arrival. The accused was located a short time later and arrested. During the investigation it came to light that on two previous occasions the victim had been assaulted and the incidents had gone unreported. The accused was charged with three counts of assault and held for bail. The victim did not require medical treatment.
