Assault And Vehicle Theft In Owen Sound

On 22 April 2017 shortly after 12:00 pm the Owen Sound Police responded to a report of a stolen

vehicle. The investigation revealed a 23 year old female assaulted two family members and then stole a 2014 Dodge Journey. At the time the female was intoxicated from the consumption of alcohol.

The female and vehicle were located a short time later in the Sauble Beach area by the O.P.P., she was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and drive over 80.

The female was then returned to Owen Sound where she was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault and driving a motor vehicle without a licence. The two victims did not sustain any injuries as a result of the assault.

It was extremely fortunate that the female and or other innocent persons were not injured with the theft of the vehicle given the females intoxicated state.

The female was later released by the court on a recognizance of bail.
