Arrests Made in Rash of Robberies in Brampton

Brampton – Officers from 22 Division and Central Robbery Bureau have arrested two men in relation to a rash of gas station robberies that occurred in Brampton over a 24 hour period, on July 18, 2016.

During this time frame, the culprits attended various gas stations in the Brampton area:

12:25 am 9 Bovaird Drive.

1:30 am 354A Queen Street West

1:40 am 121 Kennedy Road North

8:50 pm 7995 Kennedy Road South

9:00 pm 7995 Dixie Road

10:45 pm 27 McMurchy Avenue North

11:20 pm 200 Sandalwood Parkway

In each case, one culprit entered the kiosk, brandished an edged weapon and made a demand for cash. The other culprit, who was operating a “taxi”, waited outside to facilitate their escape.

One of the gas station attendants, A 66 year old man from Brampton, sustained minor injuries during the course of one of the robberies.

On July 18, both culprits were arrested by Peel Regional Police officers.

Ronald LEISANDERa 26 year old man of no fixed address and Peter CAMPBELL a 27 year old man from Brampton have each been charged with seven counts of Robbery.

LEISANDER and CAMPBELL were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Brampton on July 19, 2016.
