Arrest Made In London Shooting

On Saturday, June 25 2016, at 9:52 A.M. the London Police Service responded to a shooting in the area of Beaverbrook Avenue and Sarnia Road.

Police responded to the area of the shooting and located a male suspect driving a motorcycle. The male fled from police and when the motorcycle came to a stop at Riverside Dr. and Wonderland Rd, the male fled on foot. He was arrested as he fled the scene on foot.

An adult male suffering from a gunshot wound was transported from the scene to hospital by paramedics, where he remains in‎ CRITICAL condition.

As a result of the investigation, Themistoklis Kouzounas (36 years) of London, is charged with the following offences:

1. Aggravated assault, contrary to Section 268, subsection(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada,

2. Discharge firearm with intent to wound, endanger life or prevent arrest, contrary to Section 244, subsection (2) of the Criminal Code of Canada,

3. Disqualified operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to Section 259, subsection (4) of the Criminal Code of Canada,

4. Fail to submit to drug evaluation/Peace officer demand, contrary to Section 254, subsection (5) of the Criminal Code of Canada,

5. Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to Section 249, subsection (2) of the Criminal Code of Canada,

6. Take motor vehicle to drive without consent, contrary to Section 335, subsection (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada, and

7. Fail to stop for police/pursuit, contrary to Section 249.1, subsection (2) of the Criminal Code of Canada..

Two other adult men arrested in connection with the incident have been released unconditionally.‎ The firearm has not been recovered at this time and the Major Crime Section is continuing to investigate.
