On February 2, 2017, a 37-year-old Kitchener man was arrested in Stratford in connection to an ongoing investigation that included the search of two Kitchener homes in January, one on Fairview Avenue and another on Courtland Avenue. During those searches, large amounts of fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine and weapons were seized with an estimated street value of $246,000. In January, police arrested a 34-year-old Kitchener man in connection to this incident. The two men are facing numerous offences. No other arrests are anticipated.

On January 12, 2017, as a result of an ongoing investigation, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service arrested a 34 year old Kitchener male on Stirling Avenue South in Kitchener. The male was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun, a large amount of Canadian currency and more than $15,000 in fentanyl and methamphetamine. Subsequently, two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants were executed on Courtland Avenue East and Fairview Avenue in the City of Kitchener. Additional weapons and about $47,000 worth of additional fentanyl, methamphetamine, marihuana and psilocybin was seized. The investigation is continuing and further arrests and charges are anticipated.
