On August 30, 2014 at 6:30 p.m., a 2007 Ford Fusion was involved in a collision with a Chevrolet van at the intersection of Stone Road West and the Hanlon Expressway. Damage was sustained by both involved motor vehicles. The Ford fled the scene of the Stone Road collision and a short time later was involved in a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Victoria Road South and York Road. The motor vehicle was disabled and the occupants fled on foot.
The Guelph Police Service, Wellington County OPP and the London Police Service were involved in this investigation which led to an arrest on September 11, 2014.
A 16-year-old Guelph male has been charged with fail to stop after accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (CDSA), possession for the purpose of trafficking(CDSA) and five counts of fail to comply with probation. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with fail to remain, drive motor vehicle no license and two counts of fail to report accident.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 12, 2014.
