Armed Robbery In Seaforth – Cory HODGES Facing Several Charges

(HURON EAST, ON) – A 30-year-old male from Goderich has been remanded into custody in connection with a robbery that took place in Seaforth yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 12:09 p.m. the accused entered Keating’s Pharmacy on Main Street South, brandished a knife and demanded medication from the pharmacist.

By chance, there was a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer nearby when police received the 9-1-1 call for assistance. Immediately the officer responded to the scene whereupon he located and arrested the accused without incident.

As a result of further investigation, officers have determined the knife used in the robbery was shoplifted by the accused from the nearby Dollar Haven minutes preceding the robbery.

Cory HODGES, 30 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with Theft Under $5,000, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Robbery With a Weapon. He remains in custody with a video court appearance scheduled for April 25, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
