Around 1:00pm today, several teenagers formed gangs, and started
roaming our streets and front lawns. Each group leader was
armed with a garbage bag, while several other students were
scurrying around picking up garbage, and giving it to their
leader. Any garbage within 10 feet of the sidewalk seemed to
be fair game, they left nothing behind. Below are photos of
the students carrying the garbage bags, and picking litter.
This was on the East side of Wingham, a block from the water tower,
which is the highest elevation in town. (Upper East Side)
Kudos to the F. E. Madill students that helped make our town better,
by picking up all the trash in our streets. Hopefully the town
workers will finally get the garbage cans back up, to help reduce
the amount of littering that does occur.
