Argument leads to charges

On January 29, 2014 at 8:00 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to a Silvercreek Parkway residence for a weapons complaint. Investigation alleges that two male roommates became involved in an alcohol fueled argument. One roommate punched the other in the face and police were called. Prior to the police arriving, the male attended the victim’s room with a knife, held it to his throat and threatened him. He then left the residence but was located a short time later and arrested. The victim was not injured in the incident.

A 24-year-old Guelph man has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on January 30, 2014.
