Area Teen Airlifted To Hospital After Being Pinned Under Tractor

(PERTH SOUTH, ON) – An 18-year-old male from Perth South remains in hospital following an accident that took place at a family farm located north of St. Marys this past weekend.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on October 29, 2016 Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services and St. Marys Fire Department personnel responded to a farm located on Line 15 in Perth South. Upon arrival they located an injured male that had been pinned underneath an overturned tractor.

The conscious male was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel and was later transported by air ambulance to a hospital in London for further treatment.

Officers have since learned the teen was pulling large cement blocks with the tractor when the tractor suddenly rose up in the air. The operator fell off the tractor and the tractor toppled onto the male, pinning him below.

The injured male remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
